Ingeborg Tyssen was born in Holland in 1945 and arrived in Australia in 1957. She was awarded a Bachelor of Arts in Visual Arts at the Sydney College of the Arts, followed by a post graduate Diploma in 1982 and a graduate Diploma in Education in 1987. She studied for a Master of Arts in 1990. She has taught at tertiary level at various colleges since 1975. A documentary photographer she has held solo shows in Sydney, Adelaide, Wollongong, Newcastle and Melbourne since 1982.
