Born in Victoria in 1923, Bryant McDiven studied at RMIT and Perth Technical Colleges. He served in World War II as a pilot in the RAAF. After the war he settled and exhibited and taught in Perth and contributed to interstate group exhibitions. He taught at teacher's colleges from from 1951 to 1983. He was a president of the Perth Society of Artists, and won several regional art prizes.
