About Henry James Warre
A British army officer, Henry Warre was born in 1819, and served in New Zealand from 1861 to 1865 as commanding officer of the 57th Regiment. His pencil drawings, pastels and watercolours of Colonial New Zealand are represented in several public collections in New Zealand.
