Born in Gippsland, Victoria in 1956 Brian Hirst is a sculptor, often working in glass. He was awarded a Diploma of Arts (Visual Arts) from Monash University Gippsland Campus in 1979 and was a lecturer at the Canberra School of Art and the Sydney College of Arts. He has exhibited in solo exhibitions in the eastern states of Australia since 2014, and been included in numerous group exhibitions. He has won awards for his glass sculptures Australia, Japan and Czechoslovakia.
