Born in New South Wales in 1920, Anne Wienholt studied at East Sydney Technical College from 1938 to 1941. After winning the NSW travelling scholarship in 1944 she continued her studies in New York. A painter and sculptor, she has also written and illustrated stories. She has lived in the USA from about 1934, and from 1970 Wienholt has lived with her family in San Francisco, USA and exhibits periodically in Australia. Her work is represented in the National Gallery of Australia and state galleries of New South Wales and Tasmania.
We have records of art auction sales by Anne Wienholt from 1991 and in total 17 works by the artist have been offered for sale, of which 12 (71%) were sold. The highest price recorded for the artist is $1,708 for Two Red Potatoes sold by Mossgreen Auctions in June 2013. No works have been offered for sale this year, and the last sale we have recorded for the artist was in 2022. Works by Anne Wienholt are held by the National Gallery of Australia, Queensland Art Gallery and Art Gallery of NSW.
