Born in Sydney in 1938, Margaret Woodward studied at the National Art School from 1957 to 1960 under John Passmore and Godfrey Miller, and also in Europe. A landscape artist working in pastel, ink, oil, and mixed media, aquatint, she has won several prizes including the 1971 Wynne Prize. Her works are widely represented in state and provincial and national collections. Works by Margaret Moir Southwell Woodward can easily be to be confused with a more traditional oil and watercolourist from Sydney's Northern Beaches, who signs works. M Woodward.
