About P. Fletcher Watson
Born in England in 1842, Fletcher Watson arrived in Australia in the 1850s. He lived in Sydney for about ten years where he exhibited with the Art Society of NSW and Victorian Artists Society. On his return to England he exhibited with the Royal Society of British Artists.
We have records of art auction sales by P. Fletcher Watson from 1979 and in total 21 works by the artist have been offered for sale, of which 10 (48%) were sold. The highest price recorded for the artist is $1,100 for Lane Cove River, N.S.W sold by Sotheby's in April 1987.
