A Victorian artist, Frederick Mont lived at the mansion, 'Chartersville' at Heidelberg in the 1890s at the same time as Walter Withers and Hal Waugh were living there. He is a traditional landscape painter using oil and watercolour. He was a finalist Art Gallery of New South Wales Archibald Prize in 1928.
