New Zealand artist Mary-Louise Browne was born in 1957 and graduated with First Class Honours from the Elam School of Fine Arts, completing her Master of Fine Arts in 1982. Since then, she has exhibited widely in New Zealand and internationally. She is well known for her public commissions, including the award-winning Byword, a granite bench work which runs the length of Lorne Street in Auckland, and several more installations in Auckland’s CBD and Wellington.
