Born in Manchester, England in 1933, Stuart Cullen trained as a lithographic artist and designer and studied at the Manchester Royal College of Art. He arrived in Australia in 1967 and held his first solo exhibition in Sydney in 1972 and since then has also exhibited in Melbourne. Principally a landscape artist working in oils, his works depict scenes in Sydney and the New South Wales countryside.
