Hannah Hall left school prematurely to pursue her desire to practice art full time. In 1985 she was accepted into East Sydney Technical School of Arts and in 1992 Hall was accepted into Wollongong University where she completed a Bachelor of Creative Arts. The majority of Hall's work has derived from the investigation and interpretation of water and water foreshores. She has exhibited in Sydney in solo and group shows since 1988 and was a finalist in the Wynne Prize in 1988.
