Born in Perth in 1905, Buzacott was a commercial artist for Patons Advertising Co. before going to England in 1936. He studied at the Grosvenor School of Modern Art where, under Iain McNabb, he developed his skills as a lino cut and lithographic artist. In 1940 he won the Crouch Memorial Prize. He moved to Queensland in 1949.
