Born in Melbourne in 1957 Wayne Eager studied at Victorian College of the Arts. He was a founding member of the ROAR group in Fitzroy in 1982, assisted in establishing the Ikuntji Women’s centre at Haasts Bluff and was a field officer for the Papunya Tula aboriginal arts group. From 1998 to 2003 lived and painted in Alice Springs, and tutoring at the Bachelor Institute. He has exhibited regularly in all the Australian state capital cities and Alice Springs since 1989. The Wayne Eager Artist Book, a survey of his work, was published in 2020.
