Born in Wellington, New Zealand in 1941, Ross Ritchie is a post-modern artist, largely self-taught apart from taking some classes at the Wellington Polytechnic School. In 1964 he married artist, Pauline Thompson and moved to Auckland. He was exhibition designer at Auckland Art Gallery in the mid 1990s.
