Born in Matamata, New Zealand in 1946, Claudia Pond Eyley grew up in North America. She studied at the Elam School of Fine Arts, one of her teachers being Colin McCahon, and trained as a teacher. Known as a feminist artist, she is involved with women's art projects and her paintings contain themes of relevance to women.

The total number of works by Claudia Pond Eyley offered for sale by auction since 1989 is 260, of which 223 (86%) were sold. The highest price recorded for the artist is $5,816 for Shield for Frida Kahlo sold by Art+Object in June 2015. This year 13 works have been offered for sale.
