Born in Auckland in 1947, artist and writer Russell Jackson studied art history at Auckland University and and graphic design at Auckland Institute of Technology. He is best known for his landscape paintings of the Auckland area and his paintings and etchings of New Zealand flora and fauna. Over the last 20 years Jackson has exhibited in New Zealand, Australia, UK and Africa. and Nairobi. Jackson is the author of Wildlife New Zealand - An Artists Impression published in 1984 and reprinted in 1989. Jackson is also well known for his limited edition etchings.
