Born in Milang, South Australia in 1950, Jeffrey Mincham studied at Western Teachers College and South Australian School of the Arts. He undertook further postgraduate studies under potter Les Blakebrough at the Tasmanian School of Art in 1974. A teacher, painter and best known as a ceramic artist he has taught at secondary level and later established his own workshop in Adelaide. He was President of the Royal South Australia of Arts in 1982 and in the same year, Vice-President of the Potters Society of Australia. He first exhibited in Adelaide in 1976 and since then has also exhibited in Sydney, Melbourne and Newcastle. Overseas, his work is included in the collections of the National Gallery of Malaysia and the National Gallery of Taiwan.
