Born in Italy in 1946, Sergio Sill arrived in Australia in 1951 aged 5 years old. He trained and worked as an architect, then from 1975-1979 he studied at Preston Institute of Technology in Melbourne. He set himself up as a potter in 1978 and then in 1991 he became a professional artist, working in oil, pastel and pencil, depicting landscapes and seascapes.
The total number of works by Sergio Sill offered for sale by auction since 2000 is 20, of which 15 (75%) were sold. The highest price recorded for the artist is $1,210 for Riverside Homes sold by Aust. Art Auctions in March 2000. No works have been offered for sale this year, and the last sale we have recorded for the artist was in 2021. Works by Sergio Sill are held by the National Gallery of Australia, National Gallery of Victoria and Art Gallery of Western Australia.
