Born in Belac, Victoria in 1931, Ray Woods was awarded a Diploma of Art from the Technical Secondary Teachers College in 1952 and a Diploma of Fine Art from Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology in 1963. A printmaker and teacher, he held solo shows of his work in Melbourne from 1973 to 1980 and participated in the National Gallery of Victoria Travelling Print Show in 1965. He has also participaed in Print Council of Australia exhibitions in 1967 and 1969.
