Born in Hobart in 1872, Fleury studied at the Hobart Technical College and under Julian Ashton in Sydney. Best known as an artist of religious subjects, he decorated many Roman Catholic churches throughout Australia. He was decorated by Pope Pius XI for his service to the church.
