Isaac Walter Jenner was born at Godalming, Surrey, UK. in 1836. He joined the Royal Navy; went through the Crimean War in the Black Sea and was on the 'Royal Albert' in the Baltic. He retired from the navy in 1865 and practised as a marine painter at Brighton and exhibited at the Royal Academy.
