Born in New South Wales in 1933 Mona Hessing was known as a weaver. She completed a Diploma Design course at the National Art School in Sydney and worked as a design consultant. She had a number of solo exhibitions, the first being in 1965 at the Darlinghurst Galleries. She has undertaken a number of commissions for wall tapestries for institutions. She was married to painter Leonard Hessing.
