About Michel Tuffery
Born in Wellington, New Zealand in 1966, with Samoan, Tahitian and Cook Islands heritage, Michael "Michel" Cliff Tuffery studied at the University of Hawaii and Otago Polytechnic. A printmaker, painter and and performance artist he is known for his paintings using themes based on Pacific Island culture. Michel exhibits worldwide and has undertaken residencies in the USA, Germany, France, United Kingdom, Asia, India, Australia and New Zealand.
The total number of works by Michel Tuffery offered for sale by auction since 1994 is 222, of which 180 (81%) were sold. The highest price recorded for the artist is $17,818 for Povi Lima sold by Webb's in March 2023. This year one work has been offered for sale.
