Born in New South Wales in 1938, Michael Challis Brown studied at the National Art School, East Sydney Technical College from 1956 to 1960. A painter, cartoonist, illustrator and printmaker he was the winner of the 1966 Contemporary Art Society Award, and much of his work was influenced by American pop art.
The earliest auction listing we have for Mike Brown is in 1988 and in total 77 works by the artist have been offered for sale, of which 64 (83%) were sold. The highest price recorded for the artist is $23,900 for The Little Sheep sold by Christies in March 2006. No works have been offered for sale this year, and the last sale we have recorded for the artist was in 2023.
