A New Zealand artist, Ida Eise was born in Auckland in 1894. She studied at the Elam School of Art under Frank Nicoll in 1906, and later taught there from 1920 until 1956 and 1959/60. She joined the Aucklnd Society of Arts in 1950, and taught there one day a week from 1962 to 1976, as well as being a regulary exhibitor in their shows. She also exhibited with the New Zealand Academy of Fine Arts from 1919 to 1968. A landscape and floral artist, she was a contemporary of Francis McCracken, Robert Johnson and John Weeks.
