An illustrator and commercial artist active in the 1920's to 40's his work was published in Smith's Weekly. He painted under the name 'Virgil'.

We have records of art auction sales by Virgil Reilly from 1980 and in total 13 works by the artist have been offered for sale, of which 10 (77%) were sold. The highest price recorded for the artist is $1,440 for Dancing Lady, 1937. sold by Davidson Auctions in August 2020.
