The son of John and Mary Perceval, Matthew Perceval was born in Victoria in 1945. He studied painting and pottery under his father for many years, later studying in England and France. His first one-man exhibition was held in London in 1969, and his first in Australia in 1971. He has since exhibited regularly throught the country.
