Bessie Kendon (nee Elizabeth W. Blomfield) was the daughter of artist Charles Blomfield. She worked in his studio and after he taught her how to paint, she became an accomplished artist. Her style was similar to that of her father. Initially she specialised in floral works, but after her marriage in 1908 to William Kendon her preference was landscapes. She exhibited with the Otago Art Society from 1902 to 1904 and with the Auckland Society of Arts from 1897 to 1908. [See also: Bessie Kendon]
