About Eion Arthur Stevens
Born in Dunedin in 1952, Eion Stevens studied at Otago Polytechnic School from 1970 to 1973 and in England at the Exeter School of Art in 1974/75. A painter in oil and acrylics, and a printmaker he has exhibited regularly throughout New Zealand since 1979. In 1999 a survey of his work was mounted at the James Wallace Trust Gallery in Auckland.
The earliest auction listing we have for Eion Stevens is in 1992 and in total 257 works by the artist have been offered for sale, of which 185 (72%) were sold. The highest price recorded for the artist is $14,025 for Falling Boy sold by Dunbar Sloane in August 2001.
