Born in Hobart, Tasmania in 1932, Patricia Giles studied at the Hobart Technical College and the University of Tasmania, Tasmanian School of Art in 1968. She is a member of the Australian Watercolour Institute and a Life Member the Art Society of Tasmania. A watercolourist painting landscapes, beachscapes and florals, she has exhibited in more than 30 solo and group exhibitions, mainly in Tasmania since 1956. She has been awarded a number of prizes including the Tasmanian Museum & Art Gallery, Watercolour Award in 1972 and 1973 and the City of Hobart Art Prize in 1990.

We have records of art auction sales by Patricia Giles from 1980 and in total 66 works by the artist have been offered for sale, of which 48 (73%) were sold. The highest price recorded for the artist is $8,400 for New Track to the Beach at 'The Chateau', Coles Bay sold by Colville Auctions Pty. Ltd. in August 2021. No works have been offered for sale this year, and the last sale we have recorded for the artist was in 2023.
