About George Packwood
Born in Wellington in 1916, George Packwood studied privately with Dorothy Richmond and Stewart MacLennan. A painter, teacher and arts administrator, he was a curator at the National Gallery and founding member of the Lower Hutt Art Society. He also taught life classes with the Wellington Art club.
The total number of works by George Packwood offered for sale by auction since 1994 is 19, of which 16 (84%) were sold. Works by George Packwood are held by the Museum Of New Zealand and Christchurch Art Gallery.
