About Thyrza Elizabeth Davey
Born in South Australia in 1931, Thyrza Davey studied privately with Jeffrey Smart, and at the Girls Central School of Art in 1946 to 1950. She spent a year studying and working in the UK and Europe in 1951 and 1980.She has exhibited in Adelaide in solo shows since 1979 and in Queensland and won the Redcliffe Art Society Prize in 1963. In 1984 she wrote and illustrated Waiting for May and in 1988 Barossa and Beyond.
