Born and educated in Adelaide, floral artist Darryl Trott displayed an artistic ability from a young age. He was tutored by Australian floral artist Ruth Tuck in his thirties. Following a sell out exhibition at the Newton Art Gallery in 1977, he moved to the United States, and soon became one of America's top water colourists. He achieved international acclaim among collectors of whom Lady Bird Johnson and Queen Beatrix of Holland are among some of the most notable. He unexpectedly died of a heart attack in 2004.
