An Australian Aboriginal artist from the Yuendumu district of Central Australia. He served in the Autralian Army during World War II and after the war ended he worked as a stockman in Central Australia. He took up painting in the mid-1970s and first exhibited in 1981. and since then has exhbited throughout Australia as well New Zealand and Switzerland. He travelled to the United States in 1990 with a working exhibition accompanied by several Aboriginal artists.

The total number of works by Paddy Carroll Tjungurrayi offered for sale by auction since 1988 is 90, of which 41 (46%) were sold. The highest price recorded for the artist is $47,500 for Mythologies Relating to the Area Surrounding Yuendumu 1979 sold by Sotheby's in July 2003. No works have been offered for sale this year, and the last sale we have recorded for the artist was in 2023. Works by Paddy Carroll Tjungurrayi are held by the National Gallery of Australia, Art Gallery of South Australia and a further two major public national galleries (see list below).
