Born in Victoria in 1953 Graeme Drendel studied at Melbourne State College where he was awarded a Diploma of teaching (Art & Craft). Since 1990 he has held over 30 solo exhibitions in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Canberra and was a finalist in the Art Gallery of New South Wales Archibald Prize in 2018.
