Justin Summerton was born in Wirral, England in 1968 and emigrated with his family to New Zealand in 1972. He completed his Bachelor of Arts at Otago University in 1993. Between 1992 to 1997 Summerton travelled and painted extensively. He visited Liverpool, where he worked on Liverpool cityscapes; New York, where he began live painting in Central Park, and Nice, where he continued street painting. He also travelled, painted and exhibited in the United States, Australia and Europe.
The total number of works by Justin Summerton offered for sale by auction since 2005 is 131, of which 62 (47%) were sold. The highest price recorded for the artist is $8,082 for Bachelor Pad - Cheltenham Beach sold by International Art Centre in July 2013. This year one work has been offered for sale.
