Daniel Boyd was born in Cairns, Queensland, in 1982. He completed a Bachelor of Arts at the Australian National University School of Art, Canberra in 2005 and now lives and works in Sydney, New South Wales. With both Aboriginal and Pacific Islander heritage he has become known for his interpretation of the colonial history of the Australia-Pacific region. His work was exhibited in 'Culture Warriors' at the National Gallery of Australia in 2007, a show which toured to the Art Gallery of South Australia and the Art Gallery of Western Australia in 2008, and the Gallery of Modern Art in Brisbane and the Katzen Arts Centre in Washington DC, USA in 2009. He has exhibited commercially in solo and group shows in Melbourne, Sydney and Canberra and in provincial centres and overseas in Venice, Barcelona, Shanghai, Brussels and elsewhere.
