Vernon Lorimer was a trained cartoonist, illustrator and commercial artist. He began illustrating books for the New South Wales Bookstall Co. in 1908 and was most active during the early 1920's. He also worked as a commercial artist for publications such as Art and Australia 1924-29 and also he illustrated advertisements for the Commonwealth Bank.
