Born in the United Kingdom in 1908, Roma Higgins arrived in Australia as a young child. She had no formal art training and did not start painting seriously until 1972. She won the Albury Art Prize in 1976. She paints in the naive style and has exhibited in most Australian capital cities and in London.
The total number of works by Roma Higgins offered for sale by auction since 1980 is 110, of which 83 (75%) were sold. The highest price recorded for the artist is $6,750 for On the Farm sold by Leonard Joel in June 2021.
