About Herbert Carstens
Born in Queensland in 1904, Herbert Carstens was a foundation member of the Toowoomba Art Gallery, a life member of the Royal Queensland Art Society, and the Contemporary Art Society in Sydney. A realist landscape painter in oils, he is represented in several public collections in Queensland. He assisted in establising the Toowomba Art gallery in 1938.
