Lance Bressow was born in Brisbane in 1942. He studied in Brisbane under Ellen Howland and Melville Haysom. In 1967 he travelled to Italy and on the advice of Pietro Annigoni entered the studio of Nerina Simi. He remained there for seven years. For the last two years of that seven years, he was an apprentice to Pietro Annigoni, working with him in the mornings. In late 1975 he closed his studio in Firenze and returned to Australia.

The total number of works by Lance Bressow offered for sale by auction since 1975 is 21, of which 11 (52%) were sold. No works have been offered for sale this year, and the last sale we have recorded for the artist was in 2023.
