About Ross Watson
Ross Watson was born in Brisbane in 1962. He studied at Seven Hills College of Art in Brisbane in 1978 and in the UK and Europe in 1981, 1985 and 1987. A super realist figure artist, he first exhibited in Melbourne in 1982 and since then he has exhibited regularly in both Melbourne and Sydney, and overseas in Canada, Germany, and the USA. He now lives and works from his own gallery in Melbourne.
We have records of art auction sales by Ross Watson from 1988 and in total 51 works by the artist have been offered for sale, of which 38 (75%) were sold. The highest price recorded for the artist is $11,573 for Actresses, off Set 1993 sold by Leonard Joel in June 2020. No works have been offered for sale this year, and the last sale we have recorded for the artist was in 2023. Works by Ross Watson are held by the National Gallery of Victoria, National Portrait Gallery and National Gallery of Australia.
