About George Largent
Born in England in 1940, George Largent arrived in Australia in 1948. He studied in Sydney at the National Art School and in London and New York while working as a commercial artist. In 1965 George was back in Australia and accepted a position as Art Director for an advertising company, and after two years started his own advertising agency that ran successfully for sixteen years. In 1984 he returned to painting full time. A painter, portraitist and graphic artist, he had held his first solo show in Sydney in 1982 and has since held more than 40 one-man and joint exhibitions throughout Australia and been represented in the USA. He is a Fellow of The Royal Art Society of NSW and a member of the Australian Watercolour Institute and was represented in their recent international exhibition in Taiwan.
