Born in Melbourne in 1872, Violet Teague studied in Brussels and and England and then at the National Gallery School, Melbourne from 1897 to 1900. A portrait and landscape painter and mural designer, as well as exhibiting in Australia, she also exhibited at the Royal Academy London, and the Paris Salon. After extensive overseas travels she returned to Australia in 1935 and setled in Mount Eliza. She died in 1951.
