Born in Holland in 1937, Anneke Silver studied in Amsterdam and various colleges in Queensland, becoming a teacher (Associate Professor Visual Arts at James Cook University). Painting and drawing landscape, architecture and figure with a conceptual foundation in acrylic/oil/mixed media. She has had more than 30 solo shows and countless group and invitation shows, won a number of art awards in Australia since 1972 and has exhibited in the Netherlands, USA. ,p>Her work is represented in the National Gallery Canberra, University of Queensland collection, Queensland Art Gallery, Suncorp, Artbank, City Hall Collection Brisbane, Kedumba Australian Drawing Collection Parliament House Queensland, and in a number of municipal councils and tertiary institutions in Queensland.
