About Constance Roth
A painter of the latter half of the nineteenth century, Constance Roth conducted a salon and studio in Sydney where she and her fellow artists worked. She has been described as being among the first of the Australian women painters to distinguish themselves. She later moved and settled in South Africa. She was also known as A. Constance Roth, H. Constance Roth, A. Constance Jones, Constance Penstone amongst other names.
Since 1970 we have recorded only one work being sold at auction by this artist, which was in 1985.
