Born in Sydney in 1948, Preston studied in Sydney and Newcastle and became known as a painter of wildlife and rural subjects in oil, acrylic, watercolour; pencil drawings and etchings. He has won many awards and is represented overseas in the United Nations headquarters, Geneva.
