Born in Pakenham, Victoria in 1929, Annette Frankel studied at the National Gallery School and at RMIT in Melbourne before becoming a gallery director, teacher, portraitist and painter of historical subjects in oil. She has exhibited since 1970 in Melbourne and Adelaide.
