Born in Wales in 1858 George Addison arrived in Australia about 1883. An architect, he studied at the Royal Academy, London. He worked as an architect in Adelaide, Melbourne and in Brisbane where he designed the Brisbane Exhibition Building. He was also a teacher in Melbourne and later became art master at Brisbane Technical College.

Since 1970 we have recorded only one work being sold at auction by this artist, which was in 2006.
