About Miranda Parkes
Miranda Parkes was born in New Zealand in 1977 and graduated with a Master of Fine Arts degree from the University of Canterbury’s Ilam School of Fine Arts in 2005. A contemporary artist mainly working with acrylic on canvas, she was the recipient of the Olivia Spencer Bower Foundation Art Award of $NZ30,000 in 2013. In 2016 she became the 49th recipient the Frances Hodgkins Fellowship in Dunedin, New Zealand's longest-standing and most prestigious contemporary art award, which provided a 12 month artist's residency with a studio and the salary of a full-time university lecturer. She currently exhibits throughout New Zealand.

The highest price recorded for the artist is $9,856 for Licker sold by Art+Object in May 2020.
